Steve is the President of The EARTHWORKS Group, Inc. and has over 3 decades of diverse engineering experience covering civil infrastructure, environmental design and permitting, and building construction. He has worked with several state and federal agencies, as well as in private industry and the consulting arena in several areas of expertise, including environmental and civil engineering, infrastructure, and building design. Steve has been involved in the planning, design, permitting, and construction of buildings, infrastructure, residential communities, and coastal recreational facilities throughout the Southeast. He is a licensed General Contractor and Construction Manager in South Carolina and has extensive knowledge with the design and construction of building structures. He is a native of the South Carolina coast, and has traveled extensively throughout the Southeast states exploring recreational opportunities (fishing, hunting, boating, hiking, diving, and surfing). Mr. Strickland has specific environmental expertise with coastal nonpoint pollution, NPDES programs, wetlands and hazardous waste management and has been admitted as an expert witness by SC and Federal courts in the field of environmental engineering for cases involving riverine flooding, wetland impacts, stormwater permitting, septic tank design, and drainage system design. He has also worked with sustainable design projects, including green building, low impact design (LID) stormwater systems, and created wetland systems for stormwater management.

Mark is a native of Myrtle Beach and a graduate of both Horry Georgetown Technical College and Coast Carolina University. His previous experience as a forester at Canal Forest Resources and an inspector with SCDHEC brings an environmental focus to the design of new projects. Mark has extensive experience in representing clients before the regulatory community, especially with South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) and Horry County Engineering and Planning offices for land development projects. Mark has been a Construction Manager for The EARTHWORKS Group on large projects for over 15 years and has developed relationships with local contractors and regulators that keep the projects moving forward smoothly. Mr. Donevant has more than 23 years of civil and environmental engineering experience, including water resources, municipal infrastructure assessment, design and construction experience. This includes watershed inventory, stormwater hydrology & hydraulics (H & H) modeling, municipal infrastructure design, construction management services, and sediment and erosion control design. He has been involved in projects of all magnitudes from smaller residential subdivisions and single use commercial sites to the large multi-phase communities. He has specialized expertise in the modeling of large watersheds for FEMA flood mapping (LOMA and LOMR submittals), design supervision of many phases of civil and environmental work including storm water systems, water and sewer systems, road construction, and permitting for municipal and private development projects. He has extensive experience in representing clients before the regulatory community with significant emphasis on the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Coastal Zone Management, and Bureau of Water. His work for the Simpson Creek Watershed Study was featured on the Streamline Technologies website to illustrate the FEMA LOMR work completed. His extensive experience in these fields is a major asset to the company and the clients who rely on the smooth construction process. He has been Construction Manager for The EARTHWORKS Group on all projects for the past 20 years and have developed relationships with local contractors and regulators that keep the projects moving forward smoothly. Recently Mr. Donevant has assisted with design and permitting for FEMA emergency housing from the wake of Hurricane Matthew in Panama City and Mexico Beach Florida, to include on site reconnaissance and permit with Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Mr. Donevant has practical construction experience and common sense, which creates an unbeatable skill set for resolving difficult field problems. Mr. Donevant’s talents, knowledge, and management skills ensure that the results meet or exceed the expectations of our clients and project stakeholders.

Mr. Hammel is an accomplished Engineering Leader with more than 15 years’ experience with building systems and commercial construction. His experience includes managing design teams and projects covering residential, commercial and industrial building construction. He has a diverse technical background with more than 15 years of engineering experience, ranging from building design projects to project management. He has also worked with sustainable design projects, including green building and LEED projects. Building Team Leader at The EARTHWORKS Group, Port St. Lucie, FL. Mr. Hammel is responsible for engineering and planning for all projects within the Building Design Team. His team provides multi-disciplinary design solutions for public and private sector clients, including commercial, industrial, institutional and residential clients. His duties include mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for all building projects, management of building team resources, and planning and scheduling projects for clients. He is responsible for negotiating service contracts with clients and maintains P&L responsibility in conjunction with the financial team. He is responsible for bringing in new business via business development and consultative sales with existing clients. He provides project management, technical support, training and construction document development for new and existing projects.

Dat is a project manager and has 20 years of Civil Land Development Engineering experience. Duty includes management of production staff, project coordination with clients, local & state officials, contractors, attend project meetings. Engineering responsibility includes highway design, infrastructure site design from small banks, commercial shopping complex, residential subdivision, potable water system, and sanitary sewer system. Stormwater analysis and design for detention systems, stormwater master planning for the City of Myrtle Beach and small townships. Project permitting to regulatory agencies such as SCDHEC, SCDOT, OCRM and local municipalities.
Chris has over 20 years’ experience in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Land Development, Project Management, Civil Design and Civil Design Software Customization (Civil 3D). He has experience in the coastal region of North & South Carolina as well as the mountains of Tennessee, Virginia, and Kentucky. Chris has been involved in numerous projects varying in sizes from small, single residential and commercial lot projects to multimillion-dollar commercial and residential projects. He has been a part of the EARTHWORKS team for 2 years.
Brad is a Structural Engineer with the EARTHWORKS Group, assisting with engineering services for the Building Team including structural design, structural calculations, code review and drafting. Prior to working at EARTHWORKS, Brad obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina in December 2013. After graduating, Brad moved to Columbia, SC where he worked with a structural engineering firm on numerous structural analysis and design projects for both commercial and residential structures. In addition, Brad also has experience in performing construction administration services for multi-discipline engineering projects including but not limited to: Composite Elevated Water Storage Tank Construction, Earth Dam Repairs and Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation. He is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of South Carolina, Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Georgetown County Young Professionals.
Rick is a Project Manager at The EARTHWORKS Group, Inc. and has over 30 years of experience with the design, permitting, and construction of residential and commercial buildings. He has worked as a building contractor in South Carolina which brings a hands-on experience into his building design expertise. Rick has been involved in the planning, design, permitting, and construction of residential and commercial buildings and recreational facilities throughout North and South Carolina. He has extensive knowledge with the design and construction of wood framed building structures and project management experience that allows him to troubleshoot difficult design and construction projects.
Trudy has been with The EARTHWORKS Group for over 17 years. Her range of experience includes but is not limited to permitting civil work including stormwater, water, wastewater, entrance drives and utility encroachments with various city, county and state agencies. She is responsible for completing all applications and ensuring that required submittals are complete on the administrative level for all residential and commercial projects. She maintains records of all submittals and follows up with technical staff to insure timely submittals. She coordinates with local, state and federal agencies for all permitting issues. She has administrative oversight responsibility for the preparation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) as directed by state/federal agencies to comply with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) as stated in the 2012 Construction General Permit. Trudy has extensive experience in representing clients before the regulatory community, especially with South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) and Horry County Engineering and Planning offices for land development projects. Recently Ms. Smith has assisted with permitting for FEMA emergency housing from the wake of Hurricane Matthew in Panama City and Mexico Beach Florida, to include coordination and permitting with Florida Department of Environmental Protection and local municipalities. Prior to coming to EARTHWORKS, Trudy worked in the construction field handling administrative duties associated with road construction, commercial building and residential building. Her responsibilities included dealing directly with local, state and federal agencies on permitting and close-outs.
Terri manages the contracts and invoicing for THE EARTHWORKS GROUP, INC. She has over 25 years of experience in finance, office management, and marketing. Her experience originates from chemical and software companies such as EMD Chemicals (MERCK), Trademarks To Go, and Conexo (software company), to law firms, Neill Law Firm and Floyd Law Firm in Murrells Inlet.
Stan is a Civil Engineer in training with the EARTHWORKS Group assisting with engineering services for the land development department, including stormwater modeling and design, sedimentology calculations, and drafting. Stan comes to us with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina and project experience in commercial and residential developments in South Carolina for. He has experience with civil infrastructure assessment and design. Stan has been a part of the EARTHWORKS team for 2 years.
Roscoe is the Vice President of Customer Relations at The EARTHWORKS Group, Inc. and has over 11 years of diverse experience covering wetlands, construction sites and new buildings. He has worked with both private and public agencies sniffing out trouble and getting to a relaxed state for all involved. Roscoe has been involved in the planning, construction and inspection of coastal recreational facilities throughout the Southeast. He is a Rescue dog from Charleston Lab Rescue, enjoys waterfowl hunting and retrieval and has traveled extensively throughout the Southeast states exploring recreational opportunities (fishing, hunting, boating, hiking, and sniffing).
Sandy Anderson is The Earthworks Group, Client Service provider. She has over 30 years of experience in establishing, maintaining, and building client relationships. She has over 15 years experience with an architectural firm and understands how important teamwork is when coordinating projects with clients and contractors. Prior to coming to Earthworks, Sandy was employed with Farmers Telephone Coop in Sumter, SC, where she coordinated communications between upper management, district employees and members.
Tucker is a Civil Engineering Technician assisting with engineering services for the land development department, including conceptual design of land plans, preparation of design drawings to illustrate land use, preparation of CAD models and drawings to illustrate civil infrastructure and component details, preparation of civil construction documents for new projects, and erosion prevention and sediment control inspections. Tucker comes to us with an education in Civil Engineering Technology and has been a valuable member of the team for 2 years.
Dawn is the CFO/Controller of The EARTHWORKS Group Inc with over 25 years of experience in managing Financial Statements and Taxes for both Corporations and Individuals. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Dawn moved to North Carolina upon graduating from the University of Missouri – St. Louis with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration emphasizing in Accounting. She graduated Magnum Cum Laude and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Professional Fraternity. She is a Certified Public Account with licenses in both North and South Carolina. Dawn has been with EARTHWORKS for almost 13 years. She manages all aspects of the Finance, Budgeting, and day-to-day operations of the Company as well as the Payroll and Corporate Tax Returns. She is also the Human Resource Manager and handles the Company’s Fringe Benefits including the Corporate 401(k) Profit Sharing Program.
Mr. Millonzi has over 33 years experience in the architectural field as it relates to the engineering and construction administration fields. He brings experience with large architectural projects from clients all over the country to the firm. He is skilled in project development, project management, and client relations and has expertise in new facility and conceptual development; design development; construction documents and specifications; construction administration and contract management; project management; strategic plans and franchise/license development.
Rikki is a Civil Engineering Technician with the EARTHWORKS Group assisting with engineering services for the land development department, including the conceptual design of land plans, preparation of design drawings to illustrate land use, preparation of CAD models and drawings to illustrate civil infrastructure and component details, and preparation of civil construction documents for new projects. Rikki has an education in Civil Engineering Technology and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering Technology with a concentration in Site Development. Rikki has been a member of the EARTHWORKS team for 2 years.
Krassi is an Architectural designer at the EARTHWORKS Group, Inc. She is originally from Bulgaria, where she graduated from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Geodesy in Sofia, Bulgaria. She has 25 years of experience with structural and architectural detailing and development. Krassi moved from Cincinnati, OH where she worked with Burgess and Niple, Champlin and Haupt architects and has been involved in the design of hospitals, schools, churches etc. She has been a member of the EARTHWORKS team for 4 years.
Mr. Gibson is an environmental scientist with 7 years of experience in forest management, urban forestry, and GIS analysis. At the EARTHWORKS Group, he provides technical and regulatory assistance for clients seeking state and federal water resource impact permits, wetland delineations, and engineered septic systems. He provides GIS mapping and analysis as well as professional graphic renderings for residential and commercial developments. As a Forester, he served as lead for large land owner properties and handled timber operations and planning for 20,000+ acres in the northeastern states. He possesses significant knowledge in sustainable forestry and field operations with adherence to best management practices (BMPs). He also served as the vegetation manager and emergent work planner in the greater Chicago area, managing arborist crews for line clearance and emergency storm response.
Chris was a music major at Towson State University Baltimore Maryland from 1975 – 1977. He became an ASE Master technician for Mercedes Benz and Honda from 1977-1999. A self-taught Microsoft MSCE and A++ computer technician, he was employed by Prometric in Baltimore MD from 1999 – 2018. He was responsible for support, site build, and site engineering. Seeking early retirement and warmer weather he moved to SC in September 2018. Now a one-man IT department for Earthworks Group Murrells Inlet SC.
